NATIONAL STATISTICS - BERR - Regional Competitiveness and State of the Regions 2008

	The 2008 edition of Regional Competiveness and State of the Regions was released on 30th May 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
	Regional Competitiveness & State of the Regions includes 17 socio-economic indicators for covering the nine English regions, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is intended to give a balanced picture of all the statistical information relevant to regional competitiveness and the state of the regions and to measure progress towards sustainable economic development, skills and social regeneration
